iPhone 15 vs iPhone 16: compare the model and the seller
Reference checked November 4, 2026. This guide uses Apple's official comparison table and the iPhone 16 US specifications. We have not tested either phone in person. The catalogue's seller observations are not guaranteed current offers.
Two reference facts to start with
| Feature | iPhone 15 | iPhone 16 |
|---|---|---|
| Display diagonal | 6.1 inches | 6.1 inches |
| Display family | Super Retina XDR | Super Retina XDR |
| Chip | A16 Bionic | A18 |
| Physical RAM in this catalogue | Not verified | Not verified |
Screen size alone will not make this decision
These two reference models have the same stated diagonal. That does not mean every display characteristic, dimension or component is identical. If a bigger display is your priority, compare the separate Plus models instead of assuming the next standard generation is larger. If pocketability matters, consult actual dimensions and weight and consider handling a device before buying.
A chip name is not a benchmark
Apple identifies the standard iPhone 15 chip as A16 Bionic and the standard iPhone 16 chip as A18. Those are manufacturer facts. This site has not measured their app loading, gaming performance, heat or battery efficiency. Think about your applications and consult independent tests with a described method before paying more for an assumed speed advantage.
Do not confuse the standard iPhone 15 with the 15 Pro, or the iPhone 16 with a 16 Pro. A similar family name does not establish identical hardware. The catalogue keeps those models separate, with their own source references.
Why RAM and battery capacity remain unknown here
The Apple comparison references used for these cards do not provide the physical-RAM and mAh figures we would need to verify those fields. We leave them unknown rather than copying an unsupported seller claim. A seller title can contain precise-looking numbers that refer to a different configuration or are simply incorrect. Unknown fields also do not satisfy a minimum-specification filter.
Battery capacity is not the same thing as the health of a pre-owned unit. Ask the seller about the device's battery condition, replacement history and return policy. A manufacturer runtime claim does not establish how long a particular used phone will last.
Condition conflicts deserve attention
During this catalogue update, some retailer titles described phones as pre-owned while the retailer's structured condition field said “New.” Our cards preserve the title-based description and flag the conflict instead of calling the device a verified new offer. If the page is inconsistent, obtain clarification from the seller before ordering and save the terms relevant to your purchase.
“Restored,” “refurbished” and “pre-owned” are not promises of identical cosmetic condition, battery health, repair quality or warranty coverage. Read the exact grading criteria. A retailer marketplace can host third-party sellers; the website's name does not necessarily identify the seller responsible for the unit.
Confirm unlock status, region and ownership restrictions
Ask for the hardware model, intended region and carrier-lock status. Then use your carrier's official compatibility checker. A model name alone does not verify network support, SIM configuration or warranty service. For used devices, also read the seller's policy on activation and ownership restrictions, and do not treat an unlocked claim as a battery or condition guarantee.
Compare total cost after the checks
Evaluate the exact storage, seller, condition, shipping, taxes, returns and warranty together. An observed lower price can be misleading if the unit differs in any of those respects. Our unverified retailer prices are dated observations; they may include out-of-stock items and can change before checkout. They do not qualify for verified-price filters.
Use the Apple brand filter in the catalogue to compare the exact listings side by side. Read how we label specifications and prices or report an error with a source. We do not claim that either reference model is the best purchase for every user.
